Travel

For Australians travel is always a major effort.  By the time one travels door to door from Australia to England it is likely to take anywhere between 26 and 30 hours and not much needs to go wrong before it can take a lot longer.  I travelled from Kauai to Melborne recently and for a variety of reasons which were out of our control it took almost three days.  We left Poipu Beach, Kauai at 10.00am one Thursday morning and didn't arrive home in Melbourne until 11.00am the following Sunday.

In spite of the difficulties Australians seem to travel a lot more than others.  Even within Australia we think very little of driving from Melbourne to Sydney or Brisbane which would take 10 and 20+ hours respectively.

More recently our family has travelled a lot more and we have tried to record a 'diary' of some of our more recent trips.
