From Cambridge we drove to Elton, a small village near Peterborough, where we stayed with Derek and Helen Harris. The world is a very small place. As we were talking over a glass or two of wine it turned out that Helen went to school with people we know who live in Pennyroyal, not far from our house at Deans Marsh.

The next morning we drove into Stamford, Lincolnshire which is one of the earliest stone villages in England. We walked around the town and finished up walking over the bridge on the River Welland on our way to the George Hotel for a coffee before lunch at the Crown Hotel in Elton and then off to Gatwick for our flight back to Toulouse.
